Sophia Eick

About

Sophia Eick is currently attending the University of Delaware - College of Health Sciences where she is studying nursing. An accomplished student, Sophia Eick was awarded a Rosa H. McDonald Nursing Scholarship and has made the Dean’s List. Active with programs at the University of Delaware, Ms. Eick serves on the School of Nursing Curriculum Committee as a representative and is a gold member of the Student Nursing Organization. She is also a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, which is an academic honors society to recognize high-achieving students.

To help her prepare for a career in nursing, Ms. Eick has served as a volunteer with two organizations in Newark, Delaware, including the Nurse Primary Care Center, where she completed nursing tasks in an outpatient setting. She has also volunteered with Loris Hands, where she provided at-home services for elders with chronic illnesses. In addition, Ms. Eick has gained nursing-related experience while shadowing the pediatric emergency care and trauma team at Nemours Alfred I. duPont Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.

Committed to bettering the lives of others, Sophia Eick traveled to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, as a volunteer with Missions for Life in 2019. She has also volunteered with Weisman Children’s Hospital Outpatient Center to work with pediatric rehabilitation patients and provide swimming lessons to children with autism. As a volunteer with Best Buddies, she participated in activities with people with disabilities.
